Methods of fashion forecasting have always been a mystery which was kept under lock and key, no one shared it and studied it. Receiving huge profits, trend agencies and centers were not quick “spawn” competitors. Because fashion forecasting works in all spheres! And it is not only textile, clothes, footwear, advertisement, beauty-sphere and furniture. The main clients who ordered fashion forecasts for the next 3-5 years are such companies as Google, Samsung Electronics, Toyota, Amazon, Apple and others.
In September 2019 in educational sphere of Ukraine a non-precedent event has happened. Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University launched a mater program in Fashion forecasting becoming the first university in Eastern Europe and the fourth in the world which offers such an exclusive education!
Our students are creative, serious and ambitious people who have life experience, own business and a few higher educations, state awards and victories in prestigious contests. Now they have finished the first semester and will come to the briefing to share their impressions and answer journalists’ questions.
The master program “Fashion forecasting” is estimated to for 16 months; there are full-time and extramural studies; students are taught by top lecturers from Ukraine and Europe; there are two practices and students have classes in multimedia laboratories. After finishing the studies, a master develops and defends a creative thesis making a capsule collection for 3-5 years ahead with the use of no fewer than 5-6 methods of forecasting. Totally masters learn all 12 methods of fashion forecasting.
The concept of preparation of a master in Fashion forecasting was developed by means of consulting and scientific discussions with scientists and fashion practitioners from Ukraine and EU.
