On September 7, as a part of Kyiv Fashion, the 18th fashion clothes contest Autograph was held. This year besides the main nominations, there also appeared Neo-Junior nomination, many new designers participated, 24 contest entries were demonstrated, while a professional jury united the experts with rich experience in Ukrainian and foreign fashion-industry. Head of the jury is our special guest from France – Mr. Herve Huchet, Director of Project Service International at the Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin. Mr. Huchet visited Kyiv Fashion for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at the level of presented works. In his final speech, he pointed out that Ukrainian design has bright development prospects.
The contest was held in the following nominations:
- Neo — young designers, university students and graduates (up to 1 year after graduation);
- Neo-Profi — professional individual and trademark designers;
- Neo-Junior — the youngest category of participants uniting students of first year in colleges.
Works in the nomination Neo-Junior added liveliness to the contest and helped discover real “treasures” of a new generation of fashion designers. The winner in this nomination is the collection “Width of Africa” by Daria Romaniuk and Pelaheia Mohylnyk.
Collection by Kateryna Andrushchenko “And walls have eyes too” became the winner in the nomination Neo. This collection is marked with style (images are done in street-art style) and extraordinary presentation.
The winner in the nomination Neo-Profi is a stylish and conceptual collection “Back to school” by Svitlana Fugol, which presented the review of idea of school fashion.
This year the diversity of presented looks was impressive. The icing on the cake was natural and animal prints used in looks, which are rapidly becoming popular. Participants of the contest skillfully interpreted trends of the upcoming season.

Winners of all the three nominations were granted the certificate for Fashion Defile Awards 2019 by the contest organizer, while the winner in the nomination Neo got the certificate for participation in the project Young Fashion Line, during which designers will have a chance to present their collections at the podium and stand. The winner in the nomination Neo-Profi attained the certificate for an individual exhibition booth or a show at the 36th International festival of vogue Kyiv Fashion 2019.
The partner of the contest – Moda Textile company presented the winners of the contest with certificates for fabrics purchase.
Jury and visitors noted a high level of presented collections and many fresh and creative ideas this year. We are sure that the contest will lay a good foundation for new creative collaborations and development of Ukrainian design under the label “Made in Ukraine”.
